MANILA, Philippines - A Manila Electric Co. (Meralco) official confirmed at least 320,000 customers still have no power as of Wednesday afternoon.
Meralco SVP on customer retail service Al Panlilio said the company wants to make sure that electrical cables are dry and not submerged before turning on the power.
"Ang problema po natin if underwater ang cables, delikado...Our primary concern is safety of the customers," he told ANC.
He said those without power include customers in flooded areas in Valenzuela, Manila, Quezon City and Bulacan.
