Stronger peso good for consumers
A stronger peso may be bad news for overseas Filipino workers but it is expected to benefit consumers.
Roberto Juanchito Dispo, president of First Metro Investment Corp., says the cost of imported goods will become cheaper, which will translate to lower prices for consumers.
He added the business process outsourcing sector, which earns in dollars, will not be hurt much by the stronger peso because most companies have moved out of the metropolis and into provinces, where electricity and labor costs are lower.
