Imports rise 4.3% in October
Philippine imports hit a four-month high in October.
The National Statistics Office reported imports rose 4.3% that month with shipments of electronics, the country's top import item, jumping 8.7%.
Apart from electronics, other top imports were mineral fuels, transport equipment, and industrial machinery.
The United States was the country's top source of imports followed by China.
Despite the growth in imports, analysts said there was no sign of a major rebound in trade. ANC Dateline Philippines, December 28, 2012
