BMPM launches campaign video
Bayan Mo, iPatrol Mo on Tuesday, June 12, launched its newest campaign leading to the 2013 midterm elections.
"Bayan Mo, iPatrol Mo: Tayo Na" reflects the progression of ABS-CBN's efforts to create an 'Army for Change' via its citizen journalism arm, Bayan Mo, iPatrol Mo.
Belief in citizens' ability to transform communities and influence government action has doubled the number of Bayan Patrollers to more than 200,000.
Bayan Patrollers have shut down illegal garbage dumps in their communties, prevented a massacre of trees in Central Luzon, and sped up the release of benefits to soldiers slain in battle.
They have also succeeded in having erring government officials disciplined, played a key role in the evacuation of Filipinos from crisis zones abroad and in the country, and forcing government agencies to institute crisis-prevention measures in their neighborhoods.
Bayan Patrollers have won national awards and even been feted by foreign governments for their heroism. But the longer-term effect of BMPM's thrust to create an Army of Change is the initiatives and changes they have brought to their communities.
