Sa tuwing nagtatagumpay sa “American Idol” ang 16 anyos na si Jessica Sanchez, pakiramdam ng mga taga-Eastlake Middle School, nananalo na rin sila.
Ayon sa kanyang dating choir director, tahimik lang noon ang Pilipinang pinagbubunyi ngayon ng “American Idol.”
“I had no idea who she was ‘cause she's pretty quiet and soft spoken and she never said, ‘Hey, look at me, here's what I can do,’ and so she started singing and then the class was amazed how good she was,” ani John Academia, ang dating choir director ni Jessica. “I'm just blessed to have been part of her success.”
Katorse anyos lang noon si Jessica nang ibigay niya ang panayam na ito sa U.C. Davies.
“I want to be in the music business mostly because that's what I love. Music is what I want to do for the rest of my life for sure, and I'm going to try to get there," ani Jessica.
Noong makalawa, pinabilib ni Jessica ang mga tagahanga ng “American Idol” nang kantahin niya ang "The Prayer."
“I'm very proud because I've seen the kid when she was still small and joined the Seafood City karaoke when she was I think about 7 or 8 and she was the grand champion for the kids category."
