MANILA- A spectacle of colors showcased by a black-light theater group earned a standing ovation from the judges of "Pilipinas Got Talent" (PGT) on Saturday during the talent contest's live performance night.
Zilent Overload took the stage at PACGOR Grand Theater in Paranaque City with an exhibition of fluorescent props, patterns and costumes set to dance music, moving judge Ai Ai delas Alas to tears with the "art" of the performance.
"Alam niyo, napakaganda dahil parang Christmas, and alam niyo, parang napakabait talaga ni Lord," an emotional delas Alas told the group after their live rounds showcase.
"Noong pinapanood ko kayo, tapos alam ko istorya ng buhay niyo, na lahat inanod... pero nung nakita ko kayo, paano kayo nag-perform, kung gaano kaganda 'yung performance ninyo, kung gaano... 'yung art na pinakita niyo, grabe, nakakaiyak talaga," she said.
She added: "Pinakita niyo sa buong Pilipinas na lahat tayo may pag-asa, basta masipag tayo."
Comprised of 30 members, the group's leader said they were devastated by tropical storm "Ondoy" in 2009, and the eight-day "habagat" that hit parts of the country last year.
Aside from Zilent Overload, five other "PGT" quarterfinalists performed on Saturday -- flag-twirling group SI.CO.GU, singer John Neil Roa, belly dancer Sundee Vinas, acrobatics trio EYX Point, and singer Eumee Lyn Capile.
Voting will determine the top three acts among the second of live performers, which will have the chance to take two slots in the semifinals. -- Pilipinas Got Talent, April 13, 2013, Saturday
