Syrian-Filipino makes Sarah cry on 'Voice PH'
MANILA – The coaches of “The Voice of the Philippines” did not turn chair for him but Syrian-Filipino Robert Cozma nonetheless earned their respect on Sunday’s episode of the hit TV talent search.
With his Caucasian looks, the unemployed 36-year-old family man from Angeles City, Pampanga surprised the judges, as well as the audience, after he finished his performance of Wency Cornejo’s “Habang May Buhay.”
“This is unexpected,” Broadway actress Lea Salonga said.
Singer-actress Sarah Geronimo asked him to sing in English and he sang Gary Valenciano’s “How Did You Know,” which earned him a standing ovation from all four judges.
Geronimo was seen wiping her tears after his second performance, while apl.de.ap, who also hails from Pampanga, gave an emotional Cozmo a long hug while giving him words of encouragement in Kapampangan. -- "The Voice of the Philippines," June 30, 2013
