Lilia Cuntapay shares life story
Character actress Lilia Cuntapay shared her life story on "Rated K" on Sunday.
It was in 1991 when Cuntapay had her biggest break in show business when she played an "aswang (evil vampire-like creature)" in the movie"Shake, Rattle & Roll."
Before entering showbiz, Cuntapay, a graduate of Bachelor of Science and Education, worked as a teacher in Baybay, Leyte. After quitting teaching, Cuntapay then tried her luck in the buy-and-sell business. She also worked in National Police Commission as part of the office staff.
In 1982 at the age of 40, Cuntapay retired from Napolcom and found herself playing the character of "aswang" for the first time under director Peque Gallaga.
For almost 30 years, Cuntapay said she made almost 100 films. After years of being an extra, Cuntapay finally topbilled her own film "Six Degrees of Separation," for which she won her first best actress trophy from 2011 Cinema One Film Festival.
