Venus Raj nakuha ang 4th runner-up sa Miss Universe
Nagsimula ang coronation nights sa pagpapakilala ng 83 kandidata suot ang kanilang mga national costumes.
Sinundan ito ng opening number ng mga dalaga na naka silver at itim na damit.
Ang rockstar na si Bret Michaels at news anchor Natalie Morales ang hosts ng programa.
Inihayag kaagad ang top 15 semi-finalists na napili na noong preliminary judging. Huling tinawag si Miss Philippines Venus Raj!
Todo sigaw ang mga Pinoy fans.
Sunod na rumampa ang top 15 para sa swimsuit competition. Paseksihan ang mga dalaga
Mataas ang puntos ni Miss Mexico. Kumpiyansa rin ang paglakad ni Venus, pero lahat magaganda ang mga katawan.
Pagkatapos ng swimsuit competition pumili ang mga judge ng top 10, pangatlong tinawag si Miss Philippines.
Mabilis nagbihis ang top 10 at nagpatalbugan naman sa evening gown habang kumakanta si John Legends.
Bagay ang red na suot ni Miss Mexico. Elegante rin si Venus sa kanyang silver gown.
May special award para kay Miss Australia na napili bilang Miss Congeniality. Dalawang award ang nakuha ni Miss Thailand, Miss Photogenic at Best in National Costume.
Excited ang lahat para sa top 5, pasok sina Miss Mexico, Miss Australia, Miss Jamaica, Miss Ukraine at huling tinawag si Venus Raj.
Super saya si Venus, Ito ang unang beses na nakapasok sa top 5 ang Pilipinas mula 1999.

Bumunot ang bawa't isa ng pangalan ng judge na magtatanong sa kanila. Nakuha ni Venus ang artistang si William Baldwin.
What is the biggest mistake you've made in your life and what did you do to correct it?
Sagot ni Venus: “You know what, sir, in my 22 years of existence I can say that there's nothing major, major problem that I've done in my life because I'm very confident with my family, with the love that they are giving to me. So thank you so much that I'm here. Thank you, thank you so much!"
Nagpaalam naman si Miss Universe 2009 Stefania Fernandez.
Fourth runner up si Miss Philippines Venus Raj, 3rd runner up si Miss Ukraine, 2nd runner up si Miss Australia, 1st runner up si Miss Jamaica at ang Miss Universe 2010, Miss Mexico.
Shocked ang 22-anyos na si Jimena Navarette.
Isinuot ang korona at naglakad sa unang pagkakataon bilang Miss Universe.
Kalmado si Jimena nang humarap media pero masayang nakuha niya ang korona para sa Mexico matapos ang 18 taon.
Gusto raw niyang yakapin ang mga magulang na nasa Mexico pero hindi siya makakauwi agad dahil diretso na siya sa New York bilang bagong Miss Universe.
Tuwang-tuwa rin ang first runner up na si Miss Jamaica.
Kuwento ni Venus, super saya siya sa pagpasok sa top 5 pero ninerbiyos daw siya sa question and answer.
Proud naman ang mga Pinoy fans na galing pa sa iba't ibang estado para suportahan si Venus.

Anyhow let’s enjoy one of the possible winning answer from the question of what was the biggest mistake you made in your life. Since our bet is clean spirited and not like us, she forgot that it was actually an innuendo common for the beautiful and celebrity status girls – we say some sort of sexy or worst than that scandal, remember Rima Fakih of USA she could have answer it base on experience lol. Here we go: William Baldwin: What is the biggest mistake you've made in your life and what did you do to correct it?: Venus: oh my! are you trying to tell me that you’ve seen the video, (crowd will surely roar) kidding aside we contestants of Miss Universe are bound with ethical standards shall we say that we’ve abided and for the purpose of answering the question life will goes on, I may be hearing criticism that would tear me apart, it will be painful but I have to deal with it. Remorsefully I’ll try to have my head up high not for them for my Creator. Time is the greatest healer it will pass and hopefully forgotten. Thank you (with a kiss).
INTERPRETER INTERPRETER INTERPRETER
English is one of the official languages of the Philippines and most Filipinos are fluent in conversational English BUT our minds and hearts think in Filipino. This is true for most, if not all, Filipinos of every socio-economic class.
Venus Raj does NOT need to know from anyone how she should have answered. Surely, seconds after her stumble she already knew what she should have said. Almost anyone could give an acceptable answer to that question if they were given some time to think. In this case, she was required under heavy pressure to give an instantaneous answer which isn’t an easy task for anyone.
In the 1999 Miss Universe Pageant, Miss Philippines (Miriam Quiambao) also lost her chance at the crown due to her stumbling at her final Q & A. And who knows how many of our representatives could have made the preliminary cut had they been able to satisfactorily answer the interview questions?
Almost any Filipino can smoothly engage in casual conversational English BUT this isn’t casual conversation we are talking about here. It’s a nerve-wracking split-second Q & A under heavy pressure on stage and live telecast worldwide.
Mexico, Brazil, Venezuela, Colombia etc. etc. etc. are among the perennial finalists and ultimate winners of the Miss Universe Pageants. All of them use interpreters. Using an interpreter buys you time. It gives you a few extra seconds to think and more importantly puts you at ease in a comfort zone when you hear the question in your own language. You automatically feel at home.
You are judged on the content of your answer regardless of what language you say it. It’s NOT an English proficiency test.
Venus was robbed of the Miss Universe crown.
If Venus Raj was given the opportunity to use and interpreter, it’s certain that she would have given a totally different answer and Miss Philippines would have been Miss Universe 2010.
Miriam Quiambao, Venus Raj --- --- How many more of our contestants will be denied the crown because of our arrogance and persistence in not allowing them to speak from the heart?

If I were Venus Raj: This is my answer for the question, what is the one biggest mistake in your life and how you correct it:
"The biggest mistake I did in my life is when I doubt, fear and lose hope, the time that the Miss Philippines title was taken away from me due to the legality on the informations in my birth certificate.
What did I do to make it right?Well with the support of my friends, families, countrymen and with the courage that God gave me. I fough to regain the title; not because of the crown nor the glamour; but it is my dream. And that's why I'm here standing in front of you, seeing your wonderful faces smiling at me here in Las Vegas. Mabuhay!" :) :) :)
