A tribute-benefit concert for the late King of Philippine Comedy Dolphy dubbed "Dolphy Alay Tawa" will be held on September 19 at SM Mall of Asia Arena.
For the first time, the country's top three networks will unite to celebrate the comedian's life and works and will telecast the benefit concert at the same date and at same time.
"Sa tatlong network sabay sabay na mapapanood. Kumbaga simultaneous siya pati 'yung commercials sabay sabay din siya," says Dolphy's son Eric.
"It's the first and ang maganda lang kasi dito ay parang nagkakaisa ang lahat ng network and all for good cause," he added.
Proceeds of the show will go to the Philippine Red Cross, Hope In A Bottle, Eyebank of the Philippines and Dolphy Aid Para Sa Pinoy Foundation, Inc. The country's biggest stars such as Vilma Santos, Nora Aunor, Vic Sotto, Sharon Cuneta, Maricel Soriano, Aga Muhlach, Ai Ai delas Alas, Judy Ann Santos, Gary Valenciano, Martin Nievera and many more. Dolphy, or Rodolfo Vera Quizon in real life, died last July 10 due to pneumonia and obstructive pulmonary disease and acute renal failure. He was 83.
