MANILA – Three years since they first worked together for the fantasy series “Agua Bendita,” Matteo Guidicelli and Andi Eigenmann are happy to be reunited for yet another promising show.
Speaking on “The Buzz” on Sunday, the “Galema” lead stars believe they “have grown a lot, have matured, and have become deeper people.”
“It’s been years. Magkasama kami sa ‘Agua’ nung pareho kaming nagsisimula at tatlong taon na ang nakalipas, marami na kaming pinagdaanan. Kami pa rin pero mas mature na,” the actress said.
As for Guidicelli, he said he is happy to work with his good friend again. “Andi and I are very very open to each other. Lahat alam niya. We became very good friends,” he said.
Asked if they ever saw each other on a different light, Eigenmann said: “No. That just goes to show na noong time na 'yon, bata pa kami. Even 'yung relationship namin, platonic lang talaga.”
“Just because we work together, we don't have to fall in love with each other. We can be amazing friends too. And that makes us easier to work,” she added.
The new series starring Eigenmann and Guidicelli is based on the hit serialized Pinoy komiks tale by Jim Fernandez, which was made into a 1985 movie starring Snooky Serna.
Just like the movie, ABS-CBN's "Galema" centers on the good-hearted young woman as she struggles to live with a curse she inherited from her father Zuma.
Born with a two-headed snake attached to her neck, Galema seeks to live a normal life, as well as the acceptance and love of the people surrounding her.
Joining Eigenmann and Guidicelli in "Galema" are Meg Imperial, Sunshine Cruz, Sheryl Cruz, Carlos Morales, Divina Valencia, Lito Legaspi, and Derick Hubalde as Zuma.
It will air its pilot episode on Monday, September 30.
