DFA: Sabah standoff is over
Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) spokesman Raul Hernandez told reporters on Friday that the stand-off in Sabah is now over, based on reports from the Malaysian ambassador to the Philippines.
Hernandez said 2 members of the Malaysian Police were killed and 1 got wounded after their vehicle was fired upon by followers of Sultan Jamalul Kiram III.
Hernandez also said the DFA has yet to confirm reports that 10 were killed and 4 were wounded from Kiram’s group.
He added that there are no details yet if other members of the group surrendered and were arrested.
