Filipina nurse lauded by Obama for 'heroism' during 'Sandy'
President Barack Obama renewed his call for democrats and Republicans to work together during his first State of the Union address under his second term.
Obama said lawmakers should work on job generation and comprehensive deficit reduction plan.
Obama also called on Congress to act on immigration reform. He also wants lawmakers to vote on proposed gun control measures, citing various gun-related incidents in the US.
The US President also lauded civilians for their heroic acts among them Filipino-American nurse Menchu Sanchez who did not leave more than a dozen babies under her care at the hospital during the superstorm Sandy. ANC Dateline Philippines, February 13, 2013
