DFA to begin probe on 'rude' diplomat
MANILA -- The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) is set to begin its probe on the alleged display of rude behavior by Philippine Consul General to Vancouver Jose Ampeso.
Ampeso arrived in the country Monday to face a preliminary investigation.
He apologized for his behavior and denied he was drunk when he shouted at an OFW who was renewing his passport in Alberta, Canada.
DFA Secretary Albert del Rosario said if there is probable cause to pursue the case, it will be referred to a board for a formal investigation.
The board will also recommend if Ampeso should be removed from his post.
