MANILA -- Foreign Affairs Secretary Albert del Rosario denies reports there are thousands of Filipino workers camped outside the Philippine Consulate in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
On ANC's "Headstart," del Rosario said there are only about 600 people at the so-called "Tent City" outside the Philippine Consulate.
Regardless of the number, the DFA chief said the government continues to assist the OFWs, many of whom have expired working permits.
He asserted that the Philippine government is doing everything to help repatriate those who want to return to the Philippines and that money is not a problem.
Del Rosario is set to talk to Saudi's crown prince as well as other Saudi officials regarding the plight of the Filipinos.
