MANILA -- Labor Secretary Rosalinda Baldoz said around 900 to 1,000 pending visa applications to Taiwan will now be processed.
This, after Taiwan lifted the sanctions it imposed against the Philippines for the fatal shooting of a Taiwanese fisherman near Batanes last May.
The sanctions included a ban on the hiring of Filipino workers.
The National Bureau of Investigation had recommended homicide charges against eight Philippine Coast Guard personnel over the fisherman's death.
