The Philippines' tourism sector is off to a good start.

The country has earned high praise for our impressive beaches and adventure offerings as top travel publications show love for the Philippines.

Boracay was the No. 1 island destination in Travel + Leisure, and also calimed the sixth spot in Tripadvisor.com's Best Beaches of 2012 list. It was most recently voted as Asia's No. 1 destination for relaxation, among others.

Conde Nast Traveller has also named the Philippines as among the ten destinations to watch in 2013, thanks to developments in the hotel industry, the allure of Palawan as the country's last ecological frontier, and our island's reputation as a top holiday spot.

The Tourism Department credits all these distinctions to its extensive multimedia campaign. To stay in the game, the DOT is set to launch a smartphone app and some fresh TVCs.
