Lacson wants gun ban even after polls
MANILA, Philippines - Sen. Panfilo Lacson is looking to restrict private gun owners' permit to carry firearms in public even after the election season.
The senator is pushing for an amended version of a Senate bill he filed, saying only military and police officers and personnel should be allowed to carry guns in public places.
Ang iniisip natin malamang pulis yan o kaya may permit to carry yan," he said.
Lacson said there is strong sentiment for stricter gun control in the Philippines following a spate of gun violence at the start of the new year.
