US Navy probes ship's grounding at Tubbataha
The United States Navy is investigating why one of its vessels ran aground in Tubbataha Reef. Initial findings show the accident may have been caused by inaccurate navigation data.
Latest reports say, while the USS Guardian has not sunk, it continues to hit the reef, possibly causing more damage to corals.
The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Western Command has deployed three of its vessels to the Sulu Sea to assist in efforts to extricate the ship. – ANC World Tonight, Jan. 19, 2013
