MANILA, Philippines - Manuel Amalilio, owner of the Aman Futures investment firm, has been arrested in Malaysia, ending a 2-month search.

Justice Secretary Leila de Lima told ABS-CBN that Amalilio was arrested in Kota Kinabalu in Malaysia.

She said Malaysian authorities arrested Amalilio for carrying a fake passport and ID.

She said Philippine authorities will fly to Kota Kinabalu later tonight to work on Amalilio's deportation.

The Aman Futures official will be detained at the National Bureau of Investigation headquarters and then brought before the Pagadian regional trial court to face charges of syndicated estafa, which is a non-bailable offense.
