COA explains anti-epal audit rules
MANILA - Commission on Audit chairperson Grace Pulido Tan on Wednesday explained the new COA rules that penalize government officials using government projects, programs and activities for propaganda purposes.
Speaking to radio DZMM, Tan said politicians can no longer put pictures of themselves, their names, logos or emblems on government vehicles or projects.
"Hindi kailangang ilagay ang mga mukha, ang mga logo, ang mga emblem because insofar as the people are concerned, ang gusto nilang malaman na dito napupunta ang pera niyo," she said.
"If they want to give credit, they should give credit to the people. This is where your money goes," she added.
She said violating the new COA circular means that the expenses for the projects or vehicles will be disallowed.
