MANILA - The Philippine government is calling for a peaceful resolution to the standoff between Malaysian security forces and a group of Filipinos in Sabah.

It also urges the Filipinos -- some of whom are believed to be armed -- to just go home.

The so-called Filipino intruders have so far refused to be deported.

Deputy Presidential spokesperson Abigail Valte says the safety of the Filipinos is the Philippines' main concern. – ANC Prime News, Feb. 16, 2013
