MANILA, Philippines - Sen. Panfilo Lacson on Monday explained that he had to go into hiding in early 2010 after then President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo ordered his arrest before her term ended.

"What if you knew that if you had inside information from the DOJ that even before New Year, they really wanted me arrested? That after a Christmas party in Malacanang, then Justice Secretary Agnes Devanadera told a prosecutor that she wanted the case against me filed before January?" Lacson told ANC "Headstart" host Karen Davila.

He also said he received information that the judge that would issue the order would be appointed to the Court of Appeals.

Lacson said he did not want to go to languish in jail under the Arroyo presidency. He said all the Arroyos wanted was to "put me in jail and forget about me."
