Cayetano wants 'pasa-donations' via text
MANILA - Team PNoy senatorial candidate Alan Peter Cayetano will question the Comelec's airtime limit for political advertisements.
On ANC's Headstart, Cayetano said he will be filing a petition before the Supreme Court to undo the poll body's restriction of 120 minutes of aggregate TV airtime and 180 aggregate minutes on radio.
Instead of restricting airtime limits, Cayetano said Comelec should propose creative ways to help raise campaign funds and shift the political debt of candidates from certain groups or parties to the voting public.
"They're so strict on airtime but not helping people donate...What they should do is they should talk to Smart and Globe na pwede mag pasa-donation," he said.
"The solution is to find creative ways to raise campaign funds and take ownership. People own the politicians not politicians owning the people," he added.
