MANILA, Philippines - President Aquino will not allow allies of former President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo to join the administration senatorial ticket.
Speaking to ANC Presents: Road to 2013, Palace political adviser Ronald Llamas said the President is also not keen on forging ties with personalities who may be involved in anomalous cases.
"Malinaw naman sa kanya na yung nakita niyang nainvolve sa corruption, impunity, violence di niya isasama yan. Tingin ko yung forces na nag -a-aspire sumama sa coalition na ito ay malinaw batayan ng presidente," Llamas said.
He also bared some of the personalities eyed to fill the administration's senatorial slate for the midterm elections.
He said the President has mentioned TESDA director Joel Villanueva, Customs Commissioner Ruffy Biazon, Customs Deputy Commissioner Danny Lim and Risa Hontiveros-Baraquel of Akbayan.
Llamas said nothing is final until October, the deadline for the filing of certificates of candidacy.
"Sa ngayon tinutulak namin yung agenda ng presidente at sinong willing sumuporta na. ater on pag may position na presidente on what to do, how big is the tent, then we have to defer to that, anong magiging role namin, the decision is still unfolding," he said.
"Tingin ko before October, things will begin settle down kung sino talaga ang kakatawan sa administration slate into 2013."
