Lacson wants to summon banks with CJ dollars
Senator-judge Panfilo “Ping” Lacson said on Wednesday that the best way to determine the accuracy of the documents presented by Ombudsman Conchita Carpio-Morales regarding Chief Justice Renato Corona’s alleged dollar accounts is to summon the bank managers involved in the transactions.
“The best way to rebut the documents submitted by AMLC to the Ombudsman is to hear from the banks because as it is, sufficient na ‘yun because there is a presumption of regularity because these are official records,” he told ANC.
Lacson said the burden is now on the defense to prove that the bank documents are fabricated.
The senator-judge added that in the event that Corona takes the witness stand, he intends to ask Corona if he is still morally fit to sit as chief justice.
