MANILA, Philippines - Chief Justice Renato Corona on Friday admitted he has $2.4 million (approximately P105,074,700.90) in dollar deposits.
In his testimony, Corona said the money had accumulated since he started saving dollars in the 1960s. He said the money had been earning interest through time deposits.
He also said he and his wife have lived frugally, living in the same house for decades.
He said he started saving dollars even before the Foreign Currency Deposits law was passed.
