MANILA -- Philippine investigators have begun comparing forensic reports with their Taiwanese counterparts as the parallel probe continues on the fatal shooting of a Taiwanese fisherman near Batanes last May 9.
The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) provided Taiwanese prosecutors bullet samples from the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) ship involved in the incident.
Taiwanese investigators have also been shown the video of the shooting taken by the PCG.
They're also inspecting the Coast Guard ship and will next interview its crew.
Taiwan authorities refused the NBI's request for access to the slain fisherman's body but offered their own findings.
