JBC OKs live coverage of CJ bets' interviews
MANILA, Philippines - The Judicial and Bar Council has approved live media coverage of the interviews of the aspirants for the position of Chief Justice.
SC acting spokesperson Gleo Guerra said the JBC unanimously agreed to the proposal, citing the need for transparency in the selection process.
"This is a very, very important vacancy. It involves the highest judicial position, the 5th highest official in the land," she said.
She said the JBC will soon come out with guidelines for coverage of the public interviews.
The JBC also extended its deadline for nominations of chief justice to July 2.
