COA helping case build-up in pork scam
MANILA - The Commission on Audit on Thursday said it is helping the Department of Justice and the Office of the Ombudsman in the investigation on the P10 billion pork barrel scam.
Speaking to radio dzMM, COA chairperson Grace Pulido Tan said the agency has already turned over its report on alleged irregularities in the use of pork barrel funds from 2007-2009.
"Ang partisipasyon namin is we are helping the DOJ and the Ombudsman in their investigation. Yun pong aming report ay naibigay na namin sa kanila at yun pong dokumento na nasa sa aming possession and which were our source documents for this audit report ay binibigay din namin sa kanila," she said.
Tan said she has instructed all resident auditors in government agencies to include pork barrel funds received by the agencies in their audit reports.
She said this will enable the Commission to detect funds which are initially allocated to government agencies but disbursed to non-government organizations.
She said their auditors have already come up with reports on 54 government agencies.
The COA chief urged the public to check the COA website so they can keep track of projects funded by lawmakers' pork barrel funds.
