AFP gives P19M to 'Pablo' victims
MANILA, Philippines - The military on Friday said it is giving P19.1 million to relief efforts for victims of Typhoon Pablo after canceling their Christmas parties this year.
Armed Forces chief Jessie Dellosa said the P19.1 million came from contributions, donations and savings after the military and the Department of National Defense canceled their Christmas parties to show sympathy to the victims of the typhoon.
The AFP earlier canceled the General Headquarters and Headquarters Support Command Christmas parties as well as a joint Christmas party with the DND.
In his speech before the AFP's 77th anniversary, Dellosa said the military hopes to show its concern for the typhoon victims through the donation.
