Comelec admits problem with PCOS warehouse
MANILA, Philippines - The Commission on Elections admitted Friday that it is in the thick of negotiations to extend a contract for the warehouse used to house precinct count optical scan (PCOS) machines.
Comelec Chairman Sixto Brillantes Jr. said the poll body is negotiating directly with the warehouse owner who is demanding that the government lease the warehouse for 3 years.
"We want the lease done after the elections although we can renew on an annual basis. We cannot enter a 3-year contract without DBM approval," he told radio dzMM.
