Firecracker injuries on the rise
MANILA, Philippines - The Department of Health on Tuesday said it might consider recommending a partial or total ban on firecrackers if firecracker-related injuries continue to rise.
DOH spokesman Eric Tayag said health officials have recorded 44 firecracker-related injuries as of December 24, 2012. He said the National Capital Region leads all other regions in firecracker injuries, with 14.
He said one man from Compostela Valley lost 3 fingers after picking up a "super lolo."
