MANILA, Philippines – Two bodies believed to be victims of summary executions were found in separate locations in Quezon City early Friday.
Reports said a scavenger named Lolita Mercado saw the body of one of the victims stuffed inside a garbage bag and dumped along A. Bonifacio Avenue.
Authorities said the body bore several stab wounds. The head was wrapped in packaging tape with a nail embedded on the skull.
According to witnesses, a van dumped the body around 1:30 a.m.
Another body was found a few minutes after at the corner of Banawe and Quezon Avenue.
The body was dumped in a similar manner and also bore stab wounds.
Authorities suspect that the 2 crimes are linked due to a witness’ account that the second body was also dumped by a van.
