MANILA, Philippines - A Filipina is seeking help in locating her ex-partner, a Filipino-American serviceman, who got her pregnant.
Chloe (not her real name) said the US Embassy in Manila interviewed her last week after they received her complaint letter against the US serviceman who was allegedly assigned at the US post.
"Sa loob mismo ng embassy doon nila ako ininterview. May pinasulat sila sa akin yung binubugbog ako saka yung dinadala ko. Saka kinuha nila," she said in an interview on Aksyon Ngayon, a public service program of DZMM TeleRadyo.
Chloe said she and the US serviceman lived together for three months. She was told that he was going to be stationed in the country for three years.
Although they promised to help her, Chloe was told that the US serviceman in question was no longer in the country.
"Tinanong ko po kung saan yung lalaki. Sabi nila wala dito sa Pilipinas, wala din dito sa embassy. Nasa ibang bansa na daw," she said.
But she believes he is just hiding from her.
The embassy also allegedly told her not to try to contact him any further.
"Hindi pa kasi ako kinakausap ng lalaki kung ano balak niya," she said.
Atty. Claire Castro promised to help Chloe in following up her complaint.
"Magpa follow-up ulit tayo. Since na-entertain naman ang complaint natin, ang gagawin na lang natin tutulungan ka na mag follow-up," Atty. Castro said. DZMM, Aksyon Ngayon, May 24, 2013
