MANILA, Philippines - La Mesa Dam in Quezon City has been placed on red alert status Tuesday morning after its water level reached near spilling level.
Teddy Angeles, La Mesa dam headworks manager, said the water in the dam rose from 79.35 meters to 79.52 meters this morning.
The spilling level of La Mesa Dam is 80.15 meters.
Angeles said he has sent a recommendation to local officials to evacuate residents in low-lying areas near the Tullahan River due to possible floods.
Possible affected areas include Fairview, Malabon and Valenzuela City. Report by Dennis Datu, radio dzMM
