Woman stabs dead live-in partner in Manila

A woman allegedly stabbed dead her live-in partner in  Manila before dawn Monday.

Suspect Cherry Coloma was heard fighting with victim James Soriano inside their apartment in Sampaloc district.

The couple's landlady, Nina Ensigne, said she the noise suddenly stopped. Coloma was then seen asking the help of friend and barangay tanod Rudy Payumo after stabbing her partner.

"Sabi nya tulungan ko raw siya kasi nasaksak nya si James," Payumo said.

Soriano, a bartender, was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital.

Coloma, who claimed she was physically battered by Soriano, has been placed under Manila Police's custody. She is facing homicide charges.
