Two suspected robbers were killed in an encounter with the police in Sta. Cruz, Manila before dawn on Tuesday.

The unidentified suspects, on board a motorcycle, allegedly robbed a woman of some P8,000 before being shot dead by responding policemen at around 2 a.m.

Police said there had been previous robbery incidents in the area.

The police patrol car's windshield was damaged during the exchanged of fire.
