Two children died after a fire hit their house in Baseco Compound in Port Area, Manila past midnight Thursday.
Raymond Cualvar Jr., 7; and Roselyn Cualvar, 4; died after failing to leave their house when fire hit it at around 1 a.m.
According to Raymond Cualvar Sr., the victims' father, his 10-year-old son and wife went to Divisoria to deliver garlic when the incident occurred.
Cualvar Sr. said he did not leave any lit candle unattended inside the house. Fire officials suspect that electrical overload caused the fire.
Only the neighbors responded and put out the fire.
Another house was affected by the fire, but no one was reported injured.
