Beginning today, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) will implement the modified truck ban to decongest Metro Manila's main thoroughfares.
Under the new rules, trucks will be banned from 6 to 10 a.m. and 5 to 10 p.m.
Meanwhile, the no-truck policy along EDSA is in effect the entire day, 7 days a week.
However, trucks with perishable and agricultural products are exempted from the ban.
Truckers have criticized the regulation, saying the new policy could affect their businesses.
The modified truck ban will be in effect only until January 6.
Violators of the truck ban will be fined 500 pesos.
Tolentino says they hope to have a more comprehensive truck ban next year.
