Canadian shooter looked for other victims
CEBU - Canadian John Pope was looking for other victims inside the Cebu City justice hall before he was shot and turned the gun on himself on Tuesday.
ABS-CBN Cebu correspondent Reno Tallada said Pope had tried to look for 2 other fiscals inside the Marcelo Fernan Hall of Justice who were handling his cases.
This was after he had already shot complainant Rene Rafols, lawyer Jovian Atias and Assistant City Prosecutor Matet Casiño.
Luckily, the 2 other fiscals were outside their offices when Pope looked for them.
A police officer said Pope was shot by responding policemen before he turned the gun on himself.
Police said Rafols had filed 4 counts of malicious mischief against Pope after the Canadian allegedly barged into his house and even threatened to shoot him.
The local pediatric community also confirmed the rift between Rafols and Pope had been going on for years.
