MANILA, Philippines -- The death toll in Mindanao due to heavy rains and floods has reached 9.
The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said most of the fatalities drowned.
Six were also injured, most of them during a landslide in Tudela, Misamis Oriental.
Three people, meanwhile, remain missing.
Fifteen barangays in Davao City remain under a state of calamity.
Non-stop rains caused by the tail-end of a cold front have been battering many parts of Davao since last week.
Over 400,000 people have been affected in 9 provinces.
The NDRRMC said the cost of damage is now estimated at over P111 million.
