MANILA, Philippines – A 10-hour fire hit a forest in the province of Pangasinan Thursday afternoon.
The blaze was allegedly caused by firecrackers left by campers in a forest in Barangay Bachelor East in Natividad town.
Putting the fire out proved difficult for firemen due to strong winds and lack of water source.
It was already 1 a.m.on Friday when the fire was declared out. No one was reported hurt in the incident.
Almost 10 hectares of Gemelina, Mahogany and other fruit-bearing trees were destroyed in the blaze. -- Reports from Joanna Tacason, ABS-CBN News Dagupan; ANC
