Rescue operations are ongoing in antique for the five workers still trapped in the Semirara mine collapse.

Philippine National Police Western Visayas regional director Agrimero Cruz says the rescue team is encountering difficulties due to the depth of the mine and poor visibility.

Cruz adds that while rescuers have already identified the location of the trapped workers, they need heavy equipment like backhoes and loaders to remove the soil and dirt that cover the area.
