A closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera caught a thief breaking into two government offices in Zamboanga City before dawn Sunday.
In the footage, the man was seen breaking into the adjacent regional offices of the Commision on Elections (Comelec) and Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) at around 2:45 a.m.
The unidentified was seen carrying a black bag containing tools which he used to open the offices’ doors. It took him just a few minutes to open the office’s roll-up door.
The suspect first broke into the MGB office. He failed to unlock the office’s safety vault. He only stayed inside the office for about 10 minutes.
He then proceeded the Comelec office, but also failed to get anything.
An investigation was launched to identify the robber.
Police suspect the man was also behind the robbery in the offices of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and Land Transportation Regulatory and Franchising Board (LTFRB) in the city on that same day. – Umagang Kay Ganda, May 31 2012
