MANILA, Philippines - Surigao del Sur Gov. Johnny Pimentel said light and moderate rains have started to pour in the province as Tropical Storm Quinta draws nearer.

He said disaster officials are now on standby in case there is a need to evacuate residents.

He said residents were very cooperative during the preparations for Typhoon "Pablo."
