Nearly 6,000 stranded passengers spent their Christmas in various ports around the country.

The passengers were barred from traveling due to the bad weather brought about by Tropical Storm "Quinta".

Most of the stranded passengers were in Manila and Cebu.

Philippine Coast Guard spokesperson Lt. Commander Arman Balilo said the stranded passengers had no choice but to spend the night in the ports, and were advised to stay with their relatives while waiting for the weather to clear up.
