MANILA, Philippines – Novak Djokovic showed no signs of any lasting fatigue in overcoming Czech fifth-seed Tomas Berdych and advance to the Australian Open semi-finals.
Berdych may have hoped Sunday’s marathon five-set, five-hour fourth-round clash against Stanislas Wawrinka would give him an opportunity to secure his second career win over the Serb, but Djokovic effortlessly scrambled and slid across the baseline.
Djokovic wrapped up victory in two hours and 31 minutes.
With the win, the defending champion set up a semi-final clash against Spain’s David Ferrer. -- Mornings @ ANC, January 23, 2013
