MANILA, Philippines – Nonito “The Filipino Flash” Donaire did not let his injured left hand prevent him from winning the World Boxing Organization super bantamweight championship last Saturday in San Antonio (Sunday in Manila).

Donaire injured his left hand in the early part of his bout against Wilfredo Vazquez Jr., but still did enough to win via split decision.

Donaire said he needs to give his left hand some time to heal, but plans to continue training. Mornings @ ANC, February 7, 2012.
