Del Potro sets up Indian Wells final with Nadal
MANILA, Philippines – Juan Martin Del Potro upset top seed Novak Djokovic to set up a BNP Paribas Open finals meeting with Rafael Nadal, who beat Tomas Berdych in straight sets.
With the loss, Djokovic’s winning streak of 22 matches came to an end as he squandered a 3-0 lead in the final set.
Djokovic, twice a champion at Indian Wells, was broken twice in the third set as Del Potro booked his place in the final against world No. 5 Nadal.
Nadal, who returned to the ATP Circuit only last month, broke Berdych once to take the opening set, then won a tense second set to improve his record this year to a career-best 16-1. ANC, March 17, 2013
